Children’s Ministries

First Presbyterian Church offers a wide variety of ways for our children to grow into a deeper faith; from a lovingly staffed nursery for the smallest children to our interactive Sunday School Program ZONE for children up to middle school age. There are additional programs offered during worship and during the summer that add to the wide range of things we do. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.” And we are taking the role of children’s growth as young Christians as a very important one by offering many varieties of things for them to participate in.

Nursery and Toddler Care

Do you have a young one that needs nursery or toddler care?  We have a toddler room and nursery staffed during Sunday morning service by professional childcare workers and certified volunteers for infants up to age 3. You can leave your child in safety and fun while during worship.

ZONE

ZONE is our Sunday School program for children aged 3 thru 5th grade.  What Does ZONE Stand For?  Zest for God, Oneness in relationships, Nurture with truth, and Express love for Christ.  We provide a safe, fun environment for our children to learn about the Bible through storytelling, games, crafts and worship. We focus on introducing them to the people of the Bible and their stories of faith and love through our storytellers. We reinforce those ideas with our journeys that use guides as their craft and game leaders. And, we build relationships with other children and adults through shepherding and worship.  Join us at 10:45 am every Sunday morning in the downstairs East Room, far east end of building, September to May, as it’s a great place for children to learn about the Bible in a way that they can use in their own lives as young children.

Children in Worship!

Children are encouraged to worship with us at 9:30 am we make every effort to communicate with them through our Time for Young Disciples (Children Sermon) during worship services every week, except the first week of each month. Make sure to grab a “worship bag” for your child. It’s filled with activity sheets, stickers, stamps, clipboard coloring materials and surprises every week! We know kids in worship shapes them for a lifetime of worship! If your child is young and squirmy, Children’s Church is an interactive learning and worship time for children age 3 to 8 years, offered during worship service during the regular school year. Children are dismissed with two adult leaders each week in worship right after the Time For Young Disciples.

Children’s Church

This program is offered to children ages 3 to 8 years, with two leaders present. It is an alternative setting during the church service, so that young children have a place to learn about the Bible in a way they understand. They use felt boards to tell stories from the Bible as well as have a fun, follow-up time to reinforce what they have learned. It is always followed with prayer and play time to make it an overall great experience for the kids.
